Oink & Moo is a barbecue is a restaurant and food truck business. Their goal is to bring the flavors of the BBQ belt, from the Carolinas to Texas, to the New Jersey area. While redesigning this brand, I made sure to combine the traditional Southern barbecue aesthetic, with a more playful style, as indicated by the name. For example, I spelled "barbecue" with a "q" because I thought it added to the playful nature of the brand, and I thought it simply looked better. This project pushed me to design characters in a cartoony style that I don't normally draw in.
Before I started designing the logo above, I first made a mood-board to visualize the ideas that I had for what it could be. I also sketched out my ideas to give some roughly visualize what the final logo could look like. After picking my favorite concepts, I made some more sketches in Adobe Illustrator before settling on a design and scanning my sketches and image tracing them in illustrator. Once I settled on the design of the characters, I moved to what typeface I wanted to use, as well as the layout and composition of the logo.
